Fussyraptor’s Commission Terms of Service
Last updated on 1/23/2026
- My commissions are not first come first serve, I go through entries and pick which one(s) I currently feel like doing. Submitting a form dose not guarantee a commission.
- I will not be drawing or adding anything to the artwork that you didn’t clearly specify you wanted in your submitted commission form. This includes but is not limited to accessories, props, background elements, pose/angle/direction the character is facing or features that the character has that are labeled as optional on the provided or linked reference(s).
- I retain full copyright to the artwork I create and can use it however I want, such as posting it online, using it as an example of my work, printing it out to keep in my personal physical archive of my art, etc. I however do not claim copyright to the character itself depicted in the commissioned artwork unless it is a character designed by me.
- I currently only accept USD as payment through PayPal or Stripe invoices.
- If your form gets picked I will attempt to contact you and ask if you still want a commission slot. If you still want it then I will add you to my queue and will contact you again later (once I’m ready to start) to request full payment upfront. If you change your mind and don’t want to commission me anymore or you do not respond within three days then your commission slot will be forfeited.
- Commissions with a final price quote higher than $65 will require you to sign an online legally binding agreement before I can start making the artwork. This is to help prevent me from being scammed out of an excessive amount of my time and creative energy.
- I have complete artistic liberty with the artwork, but will try to match it to how much you prefer as chosen in your form. I will also do my best to depict the character’s design elements accurately, but I do tend to forget or misinterpret things sometimes so please let me know if this happens.
- You must provide a clear and coherent digital reference(s) of the character design you want drawn. I do not accept written descriptions by themselves. If the character you want drawn is your pet then please provide clear photo(s) of your pet, (preferably multiple pictures in a variety of different angles of your pet if they have markings, varying coloration or accessories). Please make sure your character reference(s)/pet photos are not blurry, low resolution or have watermarks that disrupt the image visually.
- You (the client) may not use any work in progress pictures or unfinished versions of the artwork, or display them anywhere. Finishing the artwork yourself is strictly prohibited.
- When I finish the majority of the sketch, it will be sent to you to look over and make sure I didn’t forget anything. You may request some changes if aspects of the sketch do not match what you (clearly) asked for in your form, or if I forgot features of the character’s design that were clearly defined in the provided reference you submitted in your form (and are not simply a difference in art style). If there is an inaccuracy of your character’s design in the sketch that you didn’t point out to me when I showed you the sketch, then I’m not obligated to change that later after you have approved the sketch.
- Once I have finished the artwork, I will send it to you in .png format (or .gif format if it’s animated).
- If I forgot to include something or misinterpreted the character’s design, like their markings, colors, or any other details that were added or should have been added after the (approved) sketch phase, then please tell me right away so I can fix it. I won’t be making fixes afterwards if you failed to ask for them within 3 days after you received the finished image.
- You may request a refund if I haven’t started on your commission yet.
- I do not accept refund requests after I have started progress on the commissioned artwork, unless stated otherwise.
- If I decide I am unable to finish the artwork due to artistic limitations, getting sick/injured, having an emergency in my personal life, etc. Then I will attempt to notify you if possible and then give you a full refund. I will not be issuing refunds if I have already showed you the complete or nearly complete image.
- If you are rushing me, being rude/disrespectful, harassing me, attempting to break my terms or exhibit suspicious behavior then I may cancel the commission.
- I do not take attempts to scam me out of my work lightly. If a chargeback/payment dispute of any kind occurs (and goes through successfully) then any permissions granted to use the commissioned art piece will be entirely revoked and you are prohibited to use the artwork or sketch in any way. If this happens and you attempt to use the artwork/image(s) at all then I may take legal action such as a DMCA takedown or sending a cease and desist.
- Please also be aware that if a chargeback goes through, then I have the right to reuse my artwork that I started or finished however I deem acceptable in order to compensate for my time, skill and creative energy being wasted. Examples of this include but are not limited to: Reusing or tracing parts of the drawing to include in other works, using part or all of the sketch or lineart as a base, making and selling YCH(s) from it, or promoting myself with any finished images.
- The commissioned artwork is not a “work made for hire”. You (the client) do not receive the authorship or copyright to the artwork/image. I Fussyraptor (the artist) retain copyright to my artwork.
To view the terms and conditions regarding the personal non-commercial use of the finished artwork/image, please visit my terms and conditions page and select the “Artwork/Image Terms of Use” drop-down item at the beginning of the page.
